Please note that if you want to make any changes from Child theme, you have to use from the available files only.
In your case, the file named “blog-single.css” from child theme will not work as you wanted to be.
So you can use from the available child theme files or add in the customizer “Additional CSS” section, which can be used while updating theme versions itself.
